Since the inception of the Amazing Zanzibar Group, we insisted on including the welfare of the people of Zanzibar in our mission and vision statement.
We looked at the community surrounding The Palm Residence and identified ways to make a positive difference to the people and the environment in Kidoti.
By constructively engaging with the locals, one of the key areas we recognised as a good starting point to invest in the health and prosperity of the community, was at the local school.
Our first area of focus was to provide a meal for the children and staff.
We currently feed approximately 1,400 learners and 31 educators twice a week, striving to increase this to daily.
We also encourage our guests to visit the school with us and assist in the feeding project through donations and interacting with the scholars and teachers.
Coinciding with the feeding scheme we aim to erect a dining area where the kids can enjoy their meals away from the blistering sun and tropical rains.
We are aware our actions impact the environment and our social responsibility allows us to leverage our disposable resources to do good and benefit others.
In the words of Mahatma Gandhi: “The best way to find yourself, is to lose yourself in the service of others.”
We find pleasure in seeing these happy faces and aspire to continue to bring smiles to our community.
